J ust in time for Christmas, meet the mistletoe drone
When you think “drone,” it’s unlikely you think of Christmas cheer. Between the grave matter of unmanned warfare overseas, and the alarming implications of drones being used in our own country for law enforcement (or more humorously, for Amazon deliveries, and the inevitable Robot Apocalypse), drones aren’t the cheeriest subject matter. Well, two men are looking to change that. Last week, a drone draped in tinsel and mistletoe hovered over San Francisco’s festive Union Square, encouraging some traditionally awkward and adorable moments:
Creators George Zisiadis and Mustafa Khan spoke with The Bold Italic, and Zisiadis explained, “Drones have been causing all sorts of paranoia lately and I wanted to reframe them from being something scary and ominous to being fun and human.
