GoogleReader

It’s sure starting to seem like a year for coffin nails – recently, Twitter’s 1.0 API had its last call, and today, Google’s well-loved RSS feed goes dark once and for all. RSS feeds are a popular for those of us looking for great online content, allowing users to follow their favorite websites easily and all in one place.

Still, not all hope is lost – RSS fans can still use alternate services. Feedly is our preference, but there are plenty of others out there – even one that lets you get your feed like it’s the intro to Star Wars. The emperor might be dead, but the RSS empire lives on – and on the bright side, you can choose your own personal successor.
